Stearic acid is a white waxy transparent solid or a yellowish waxy solid. It is a saturated long-chain fatty acid with a straight chain structure composed of 18 carbon atoms and the chemical formula C17H35COOH. It is widely found in nature, especially in animal fats and certain vegetable oils.
