(1) Beverages: It is widely used in acidic beverages, such as carbonated drinks, fruit juices, functional beverages, flavored waters, and iced teas. Sodium benzoate can effectively prevent microbial contamination, enabling beverages to maintain a long shelf life in an acidic environment. 

(2) Jams and Jellies: Sodium benzoate is used to extend the shelf life of jams and jellies and prevent the growth of mold, especially in cases where they need to be stored for a long time after being opened. 

(3) Pickled Foods: For pickled foods such as pickled cucumbers, pickled vegetables, and pickled peppers, sodium benzoate can effectively prevent the excessive fermentation of lactic acid bacteria and other microorganisms in the food. 

(4) Seasonings: In acidic seasonings including soy sauce, ketchup, salad dressing, and chili sauce, sodium benzoate can ensure that the seasonings will not deteriorate during long-term storage. 

(5) Baked Goods: Sodium benzoate is also used in some baked products, such as packaged cakes, pies, and fillings, to prevent the products from deteriorating due to microorganisms.
